THE ANSWER IS IN THE PAINT.

My painting practice is grounded in observational painting and focuses on capturing moments from my ordinary, everyday world. The paintings depict the seemingly unremarkable views of my daily experience, finding little aesthetic moments in the mundane. The overlooked or unconsidered elements of our normal lives have always captured my attention, and I find myself continually returning to my immediate surroundings as the subjects of my paintings. The process of translating those observations through painting provides the opportunity to explore composition, abstraction, and color while reminding me to be present in my own life.
